B2 Exam Practice

Relative clauses, adjectives, adverbs, and tense accuracy. Use the quick guide on the left while you complete the exam-style tasks on the right.

Part 1 · Relative Clauses

Choose the best relative word. Think: person, thing, place, time, or possession?

Part 2 · Relative Clause Error Correction

Rewrite each sentence correctly. Then check the model answer and reason.

Part 3 · Adjectives & Adverbs

Choose the correct form. Ask: Am I describing a noun/person/thing, or an action?

Part 4 · Explain the Mistake

For exam writing, it is not enough to guess. You need to know why the sentence is wrong.

Part 5 · Tense Choice

Choose the best tense. Notice time words like already, when, for three years, last week, and tomorrow.

Part 6 · Tense Transformation

Rewrite the sentences using the tense in brackets. Keep the meaning as close as possible.

Part 7 · Mixed B2 Exam Practice

This section mixes all three exam areas: relative clauses, adjective/adverb accuracy, and tense control.

Part 8 · B2 Writing Challenge

Write 120–160 words about a person, place, or experience that helped you improve. You must include:
• 2 relative clauses
• 3 adjectives
• 3 adverbs
• 3 different tenses
Model structure:
One person who helped me improve was my English teacher, who always explained mistakes clearly. At first, I found grammar confusing, especially when I had to choose between similar tenses. However, I have become more confident because I practise regularly and review my errors carefully. Last year, I often avoided difficult writing tasks, but now I try to use more accurate sentences. The place where I study best is my room because it is quiet and comfortable. Next month, I am going to take an exam, so I will continue revising as often as possible.
